Norway

I’m excited to announce my new Norway Cultural Experience Tours! Just launched in partnership with Inside Europe, our first adventure will be February 15-20, 2020! Learn more about the tours at our website: www.norwayjourneys.com

As usual, I’ve been talking…a lot…and this time it’s about these incredible tours! You can listen in to my latest radio appearance introducing the tours here:

Norway has long been a destination for nature lovers. Who can resist the lure of the deep narrow fjords flanked by majestic mountains showcasing spectacular waterfalls? I know I can’t. Movie lovers inspired by the landscapes showcased in Frozen can’t either. But I’ve discovered another side to Norway—a side that uncovers the country’s rich cultural heritage. It goes far beyond the beauty of the landscapes, the Northern Lights, and the midnight sun…it reaches back into history and showcases the depth of Norwegian culture.

Norway’s cultural history delves as deep…or deeper than its fabulous fjords. Not many places on earth can boast cities founded by Viking kings. Few countries can introduce visitors to the indigenous Sami culture and the reindeer herds they manage. If you want to talk about salmon and the coastal culture, good luck finding any country to match the spectacular coasts of Norway.

I’ve fallen in love with the landscapes and the culture of this spectacular country. Coming in 2019, I will be leading tours to introduce Americans (and the world) to the cultural side of Norway. We’ll explore the Viking culture that is the foundation for the city of Trondheim; the indigenous Sami culture that portrays the deep roots of the country; and, the coastal culture that dates back to the Stone Ages yet plays a vital role in supplying the world with the freshest seafood available. All of this culture can be found in abundance in central Norway’s Trøndelag region—which is also the breadbasket of the entire country.

Treat yourself or a friend or family member to an unforgettable experience! I’ll be there to introduce you to some of my favorite Norwegians!
